Memories in Threads Collections - including our perfect band quilt design - our "WINTER WINDOW PANE" Quilt, which is perfect for larger sized clothing and we think the most amazing band tee quilt design or sporting tee design. Featuring the clean and modern large square design with a surrounding border with internal window pane effects. Highlighting the items set within each square. The beauty of this quilt is it is custom sized to the specific shirts you have.
Our "Winter" Window Pane quilt boasts a clean and modern look with flexible sized finished squares or rectangles as each panel - depending on the size of the tees.
Each panel is ditch stitched in the square seams to the batting only - making your clothing top layer attached to the middle layer batting. Leaving the backing fabric free of quilting lines. We do not offer or complete full quilting through all layers.
The backing is not ditch stitched to the front of the quilt. Just a nice clean edge with a top stitching all the way around approx the border is visible from the back.
Each quilt has one Cotton / Bamboo internal batting. Approx 1.5 to 2mm thick. Standard quilting batting internal. The overall weight of the quilt varies depending on garments used and the backing selected.

100% cotton crinkle fabric backing - to co-ordinate with your clothing used on the top in colour (selected colours available)
OR
100% polyester plain minky or minky dot. Once a gain sourced to a colour of choice (selected colours available)
PALE PINK / GREY / MID ROYAL BLUE / BABY BLUE / BLACK other colours on application.
Please note either of these backing options are not quilted to the topper of your quilt and sits freely on the back.

GARMENT REQUIREMENTS GUIDE -
CHILD GARMENTS
COT - Approx 20 to 30 garments unless can double use some garments.
MIDI - Approx 40 to 50 garments
SINGLE - Approx 70 to 80 garments unless can double use some garments.
Due to kids garments sizing anything under size 00 will not be able to be used back and front to reduce the amount of garments. The ideal choice for baby clothing for this window pane design is the Square inserts as they are 15cm x 15cm like our Sampson quilt.
Each panel needs to be 17cm x 17cm to allow for seam allowance. If you are unsure of the sizing needed and if your garments fit - please take a piece of card and draw 17cm x 17cm square and use this as a template to check. This is the perfect thing to do for smaller kids clothing to see if fit.
ADULT GARMENTS -
Same as above - but with the greater ability to double up and triple up on the squares. So you can reduce the amount of garments needed by half or a third based on doing this.

Each and every Memories in Threads Quilt created as a CUSTOM ORDER and this means that it is created just for you - as an individual and unique piece.

We know creating such special pieces can be deeply personal and we would love nothing more than to have a chat and create a custom listing to outline your design decided together. Upon completion you will receive a few studio photos of your finished item like below. Showcasing your stunning piece. It will then be packaged into a cloth dust bag for gifting.
You will be supplied with a photographed layout of the design so you can see the clothing pieces laid out in the order it will be sewn. There may be times that we change things around when required, this could be due to fabric or trim quality or quantity or a design features that pop out screaming to be used etc. This of course is always conducted with full communication and disclosure to you each step of the way.
Each Memories in Threads item is carefully created to honour the clothing supplied. We do our best to ensure that the clothing and fabric supplied to create with are cut in a way that best captures the details, or uses the fabrics in the best condition shall there be any pilling / pulling / discolouration etc. However due to the nature of this item, this is not always possible to do and the finished item may have some of these on them. There may be some unavoidable parts that are used in order to create the items that suits your needs and what you would like featured.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS -
Please note that these keepsake quilts have specific care requirements to keep your keepsake quilt in the loveliest condition. We recommend to not machine wash. This is a preferred spot clean keepsake and if necessary - please spot handwash clean only. The internals of the quilt is bonded interfacing, which features glues, this is to adhere the fabrics to the interfacing to create a stable way for the quilt to appear the same with whichever fabric it is created from. Over time if the quilt is washed this glue will start to remove from the fabric and can create a look that you don't prefer. Also batting inside has been pre shrunk, however in washing in a machine or warm to hot water will make the internal batting shrink up or pull off seams creating a lumpy and crinkled quilt. We do pre wash any bought fabrics for colour bleeding or shrinking however please note we cannot control this in your handwashes or the clothing you supply bleeding.
