Memories in Threads Collections - including our Sammy "Square" Quilts - are the pride and joy of our collection. Featuring the clean and modern large square design.
Our Sammy quilt boasts a clean and modern look with 20cm x 20cm finished squares as each panel. Making up the width and length of the actual quilt. There is no bulky borders taking away from your clothing used within the quilt. We want your clothing to do the talking and show justice for the top of the quilt.
Each panel is ditch stitched in the square seams to the batting only - making your clothing top layer attached to the middle layer batting. Leaving the backing fabric free of quilting lines. We do not offer or complete full quilting through all layers.
The backing is not ditch stitched to the front of the quilt. Just a nice clean edge with a top stitching all the way around approx 15mm in that is visible on the top and bottom of the quilt.
Each quilt has one Cotton / Bamboo internal batting. Approx 2 to 3mm thick. Standard quilting batting internal. The overall weight of the quilt varies depending on garments used and the backing selected.

Simple print 100% cotton backing - to co-ordinate with your clothing used on the top.
OR
100% polyester textured minky or minky dot. Once again sourced to a colour of choice (selected colours available)
Please note either of these backing options are not quilted to the topper of your quilt and sits freely on the back.

QUEEN - approximately 200cm x 220cm - 110 panels
(Backing on double and queen will require a seam due to available backing widths)
Each made up of finished size 20cm x 20cm squares
(Custom size squares smaller or larger can be arranged of 15cm x 15cm in our Sampson Small Square Quilt)

LAP - Approx 10 to 20 garments
COT - Approx 20 to 30 garments
MIDI - Approx 25 to 40 garments
SINGLE - Approx 30 to 60 garments
DOUBLE - Approx 90 to 100 garments
QUEEN - Approx 90 to 120 garments
Due to kids garments sizing anything under size 00 will not be able to be used back and front to reduce the amount of garments.
ADULT GARMENTS -
Same as above - but with the greater ability to double up and triple up on the squares. So you can reduce the amount of garments needed by half or a third based on doing this.
Each panel needs to be 22cm x 22cm to allow for seam allowance. If you are unsure of the sizing needed and if your garments fit - please take a piece of card and draw 22cm x 22cm square and use this as a template to check.
(Please note that each quilt sizing may vary if the 20cm x 20cm square design is altered. Please note that price does increase if changes to the squares are made to be smaller to accommodate smaller baby items. Each and every Memories in Threads Quilt created as a CUSTOM ORDER and this means that it is created just for you - as an individual and unique piece.
Simply get in touch HERE to design your Memories in Threads Doll and Decor piece/s shall you want to have a conversation around your order rather than using the checkout function and adding notes to cart. We know creating such special pieces can be deeply personal and we would love nothing more than to have a chat and create a custom listing to outline your design decided together. This will help us engage us as to what you may like to see used in your item.
Upon completion you will receive a few studio photos of your finished item like below. Showcasing your stunning piece. It will then be packaged into a cloth dust bag for gifting.
You will be supplied with a photographed layout of the design so you can see the clothing pieces laid out in the order it will be sewn. There may be times that we change things around when required, this could be due to fabric or trim quality or quantity or a design features that pop out screaming to be used etc. This of course is always conducted with full communication and disclosure to you each step of the way.
Each Memories in Threads item is carefully created to honour the clothing supplied. We do our best to ensure that the clothing and fabric supplied to create with are cut in a way that best captures the details, or uses the fabrics in the best condition shall there be any pilling / pulling / discolouration etc. However due to the nature of this item, this is not always possible to do and the finished item may have some of these on them. There may be some unavoidable parts that are used in order to create the items that suits your needs and what you would like featured.
Please ensure you select the recommended postage option of - EXPRESS POSTAGE WITH SIGNATURE ON THIS ITEM and don't forget to send a prepaid self addressed satchel to return your remaining items, as indicated in our Memories in Threads FAQ HERE.
Please note our heirloom keepsakes are not suitable as toys and are decor pieces only. Not suitable for play but to be a cherished Memory item. This item is unable to be machine washed. Spot cleaning only. Cool iron only if necessary due to different fabrics of clothing within the quilt being different compositions.
