We recommend to not machine wash. This is a preferred spot clean keepsake and if necessary - please spot handwash clean only. The internals of the quilt is bonded interfacing, which features glues, this is to adhere the fabrics to the interfacing to create a stable way for the quilt to appear the same with whichever fabric it is created from. Over time if the quilt is washed this glue will start to remove from the fabric and can create a look that you don't prefer. Also batting inside has been pre shrunk, however in washing in a machine or warm to hot water will make the internal batting shrink up or pull off seams creating a lumpy and crinkled quilt.
